رویداد E3 2017 شاهد نمایش بازی‌های بسیار زیادی بود و طبق سنت هرساله، منتقدانی از سراسر آمریکا و جهان به عنوان داوران نمایشات موجود، قضاوتی در مورد کیفیت آنها ارائه خواهند داد. امسال هم داوران نامزدهای جوایز سال بزرگ‌ترین رویداد گیمینگ جهان را انتخاب کردند که درمیان مجموعه آثار، ۳ بازی Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle، Middle-earth: Shadow of war و Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus با بیشترین موفقیت در کسب نامزدی (۴ بار نامزدی برای هرکدام)، از بالاترین بخت برای کسب جوایز بهره می‌برند.
درمیان ناشران، آثار کمپانی یوبی‌سافت (Ubisoft) با مجموع ۱۴ نامزدی (۱۱ نامزدی بیشتر از سال گذشته) و پس از آن، کمپانی سونی (Sony) با مجموع ۷ نامزدی (۲ نامزدی کمتر از سال گذشته) کیفیت ناشر خود را به رخ کشیدند.
درمیان پلتفرم‌ها، بازی‌های مخصوص دو پلتفرم پلی‌استیشن۴ و پی‌سی با کسب ۴۹ جایگاه نامزدی امکان دریافت درصد بیشتری از جوایز را نسبت به سایر پلتفرم‌های ایکس‌باکس‌وان (۴۴ نامزدی) و نینتندو سوییچ (۱۷ نامزدی) خواهند داشت.
طبق اعلام مسئولان رویداد E3 2017 ، لیست برندگان جوایز در تاریخ چهارشنبه ۷ تیرماه (۲۸ ژوئن)، اعلام می‌شود.
قبل از مشاهده لیست نامزدهای جوایز رویداد E3 2017 باید یادآور شویم، تنها بازی‌هایی موفق به شرکت در بخش جوایز رویداد E3 2017 می‌شدند که حداقل به مدت ۵ دقیقه توسط داوران قابل‌انجام و کنترل بودند، پس نبود سایر عناوین بزرگی چون God of War، Anthem، Spider-Man و بسیاری دیگر به علت قابل گزینش نبودنشان است.
